Located on the beautiful Sri Lankan South Coast, Ocean Tribe surf and yoga retreat in Sri Lanka is a home to beach bums, yoga lovers, surfer dudes & dudettes, and all sorts of other vitamin sea addicts.
We built our vision of an eco-friendly surf camp in Sri Lanka to welcome travelers from all corners of the world and make them feel a part of our amazing community right next to our main love – the Indian Ocean.
The beach is practically our neighbor, and is just across the main road which runs along the coast line. At the same time, our surf retreat in Sri Lanka is tucked away nicely, giving us a secluded and chilled feel.
Get together at our daily surf camp community dinners and meet your tribe’s family. You will not only experience a mix of authentic Sri Lankan and Western cuisine, but you will also feel at home away from home, where you share new adventures, laughs and love with fellow travelers.

Be Part of the Tribe
Fill your Ocean Tribe days with hanging out at our restaurant, exploring the most beautiful places in and around Weligama, with surfing, with yoga or with general island life goodness. Your Tribe will be right here to help you build your perfect day in paradise.
For your Sri Lankan surf camp nights, you have the choice to sleep in one of our thoughtfully furnished and decorated private rooms or our dorm, which is just as cozy and comfy.

At our restaurant we serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Here you can get your daily king coconut (highly recommended) or a fresh juice and enjoy the comfortable space. Our coconuts, as well as much of the other fruit we use, grows in our garden. It doesn’t get fresher than that.

Our private rooms and our dorm have ensuite bathrooms, AC and a little terrace. We took an extra minute to think about materials and where they are sourced from. All our furniture is made from Sri Lankan mahogany wood, and is produced locally. Find out more about our rooms.

Sri Lanka is becoming more and more popular amongst digital nomads. To create a productive environment for you to work in, we have made sure that our WIFI connection is reliably strong and our restaurant is stocked with coffee. Ask us about our special long-term nomad rates for your surf vacation.

what we believe in
Sustainable and local
Our lives revolve around the ocean. We love to be in it, close to it, and watch it. It’s the most beautiful place to be, and is incredibly important to us, as well as being a vital part of the local community. Many of the local families rely on fishing and maintaining a healthy ecosystem. Therefore, it only makes sense for us to honour that space and to protect it as well as we can, both for ourselves and for everyone that lives here.
We’ve taken important steps towards creating a cleaner environment by installing a water treatment system, by cutting out single-use plastic, and by putting a lot of thought into the materials we use for our interiors. The furniture is made locally and with locally-source wood, supporting both our community and our earth.
